TreeDigree Family Tree

I wanted to develop a design that speaks beauty and easy to use navigate on the eyes. I think I’ve achieved it starting with the homepage. The glowing tree says that we are all part of the same root and the beautiful blue skies shows the endless room for a tree to grow into. The homepage is complimented by both the Login and Registration page where simple text fields makes forms easy to fill.

Tattoos and Tentacles

This is another winner design. It’s simple and the art just pops in your face; “Look at us!”, it could be saying.
This project runs on the Big Cartel Platform and the limited flexibility gave me a little bit of an experience to code, but nevertheless it was very enjoyable to learn new things.

Overall, everything went worked out and this amazing design came alive within a week.

I have always been a fan of dark backgrounds and pop out colors in the forefront so when I started designing this website I put a lot of thoughts into how it can be expressed as “Media” and to the point.

As I went through many concepts I found no other way to represent a small company than to put what the client wants a visitor to see. I feel that the information/media needs to be presented in a way that quickly shows what the company is all about.

The background paint splashes and darkness of the whole site gives a very sharp contrast to the three vertical bars. I think the colors matched the design very well.

Since this is a full powered media website, I’ve custom made the video player to play automatically when you click on a vertical bar. I’ve also added a feature(written in JQuery) where if you hover over the thumbnails, then a little tooltip popup will show up showing the title of the video.

Overall, the website was very well liked by the client. It took me about 2 weeks to get the website completed from Designing and Programming.

I designed the “design” a little bit complicated on the eyes and that it should be easy to navigate,

When I first developed the website, I did it using Flash, but this proved hard to maintain because every time when we needed to do an update, we would have to run to the Flash .fla file. One other problem was running into Mobile phones where Flash capability does not exist. This rendered this website useless in the case and so I re-developed the website with absolutely no Flash and giving all hands to the power of JQuery.

Although I have finished working on this website, my client hasn’t made the decision to make their website Live.

The huge background image will randomly rotate everytime the page is refresh.

Use the Arrow Key (Left/Right) to go next or previous. You can also use your cursor to click on PREV or NEXT on the bottom right to cycle through their works.

Yellow website

I designed this layout in mid year of 2011. I used it for about 2 months for a place holder while I was working on a different design. The goal for it is to be simple and to the point.

Custom horizontal scrollbar.

All in all, this page has a simple look to it, but it did took me a couple of weeks to get the color and sizing right for my taste. No database was used because the intention wasn’t for long term so I hardcoded the image and text in one single HTML file.
Why the bright colors? Well, there isn’t any reasons behind it besides just trying to having fun.

This site was designed by the client and all I had to do is programmed/code it up.
Here in the main page, I used jQuery to do the photo slideshow. There are an unlimited amount of images that can be place here. I think the transitions is easy and simple on the eyes.

Each page “can” have an image on the right and this can be controlled in the CMS, but will be limited to only one image at a time. There are no rotations.

Final though: Although this project was “half” the job as I only did the coding, the amount of time required to complete the website is about the same as designing and coding. The reason is because when you are given a design, you have to make sure you understand from the client what is going on and what they imagine their design would look like when it’s Live.

Celebrity Society

In this top part of the website, we made it in flash and it scrolls from right to left in a X amount of seconds if we don’t press anything.

This is a three column design for the main page. All of these are editable within the CMS.

Within each article, you can see past issues and these issues are in descending orders from newest to oldest.

Overall the design was just beautiful. The client was happy and the result was amazing from the reviews.
